Wrapping up 2011...

Every year, I try to make a little tribute to the year as it comes to a close.  The first few years, I made cards and sent them to each client, but as my session list grew, they no longer fit onto a card.  The past few years I have made a slideshow video showcasing the year.  This year it seemed a little daunting for me.  I had sooo many sessions and it took me forever to go through them all, but I finally got it done!  :)  

  

 

 

THANK YOU TO ALL MY 2011 CLIENTS.  It was a wonderful year.  I feel so blessed to have captured so many memories, milestones and first moments.  I love my job so much and without you guys, I wouldn't be anywhere.  SO THANK YOU!  

 

And while we are chatting about 2012...there will be some fun changes in store (besides me having a baby!).  Stay tuned!  

 

 

A very Pirate party!

Our little one turned 3 way back in September.  IN August, we shot a little video (and photos) for his birthday invitations. And then, our fall wedding season hit and I JUST NOW got around to finishing it!  I adore this...

 

 

His party was super fun as well....

 

 

I have another birthday to share soon too! :)  We love a good party!

Robyn & Jonathan | the video...

Brooklyn & Daniel | The engagement video

I totally forgot to share this!  For part of Brooklyn & Daniel's wedding reception, they wanted a video played.  We filmed at their engagement session and here is what we came up with.  It was so out of our norm shooting this.  We are used to weddings which have such a natural progression, so it was challenging yet fun.  Of course Travis took the opportunity to experiment with some different filming as well.  A portion of the clips were shot with an iphone using the 8mm filming app.  :)  A fun touch to their already vintage inspired session!

Caroline & Randall | September 28, 2010

I got an email late one night from Caroline.  It was 3 weeks before her wedding day and she wanted to hire me to photograph her wedding.  She had just found me online and KNEW I was the one.  I set up a date to meet up in person.   After meeting her, I KNEW I was the one to photograph her day as well.  It was a tuesday wedding nestled in the most beautiful spot in the mountains at Chetola Resort in Boone, NC.  Just so happens, that as an ASU alumni, I was quite familiar with this spot!  I was excited about capturing her day.  

 

For starters, here is a peek at their wedding video...

  

To say their wedding was emotional would be an understatement.  The groom, the bride, the bride's children, the bride's mom, and EVEN I were caught crying during this emotional wedding!  It was a celebration of love, happiness, and a new family's beginning.  Here are my favorite peeks at the day...

A tribute to 2010....

Jennifer & Marcus | The Wedding...

Jennifer and I went to college together.  She is hardworking, kind, and pays a lot of attention to the details of things.  Even in college she and her roommate won a contest for the best decorated dorm room.  She has always had a knack for making things look beautiful.  So when she hired me to shoot her wedding, I KNEW it would be simply stunning.  And I was right.  There was no detail left undone.  She thought of EVERYTHING.  The wedding was held at the Salisbury Station and it is now a favorite place of mine.  I would LOVE to shoot more weddings there.  It was perfect!  :)

 

Knowing Jennifer and Marcus gave me an advantage on the day.  I was able to implement so many fun elements into their photos.  I knew that she was going for a nature feel with a touch of glam on everything, so I brought along some ideas to incorporate the same things into their photos.  

I brought along my stump for some detail shots. 

 

I thought incorporating trees for her jewlrey would be a fun touch...

Megan & Chance | Destination Wedding

Megan & Chance tied the knot in Jamaica and we were lucky enough to be invited along for the wedding!  We have shot at a lot of beautiful locations for weddings, but I must say, this topped the charts for us.  I was nervous going into it, but now i have a new found love for destination weddings and I cannot wait to book another!  If you want to tie the knot somewhere fabulous, contact us for our travel rates!  :)

 

Back to their fabulous wedding week...We spent several days in Ocho Rios with them covering their entire trip, rehearsal dinner, wedding and even a day after session.  We even tagged along for snorkeling, dinner and time at the pool!  The entire wedding crowd of 40 people were generous and welcoming to us!  We felt like one of the gang!  It was an amazing experience that we just don't get in a one day wedding!  Of course we came home overloaded with a million pictures, video footage and more to sift through.  It was a task, weeding through it all!  But we did and then to make the experience even better, we got to join Megan and Chance at their local reception this weekend.  It was the first time we have ever watched a couple (and 150+ guests!) watch their wedding video for the first time live.  It was so cool to see the tears stream down and the smiles and to hear their thoughts right in that moment.  I wish I could do this with every couple because it certainly makes the entire wedding experience come full circle for us!

Emily & Chris | Mountain Wedding

Emily and Chris had a fall mountain wedding planned, but their wedding got bumped up due to his military plans.  We were happy to join them for a summer wedding in the mountains.  It was a beautiful spot located right on the mountain side.  The details of this wedding were simply stunning.  They did a fabulous job pulling everything together, especially on a tight schedule!  Here is there video...

Becki & Ryan | Charleston Wedding

We traveled to Charleston SC for Becki & Ryan's fabulous wedding!  It was held at the beautiful Creek Club in Mt. Pleasant.  The place was simply a stunning backdrop for their ceremony!  I will start off sharing their fabulous video...
